The Story about Ping

The story about Ping was always a favorite of mine. I always felt so sorry for Ping and the other ducks that were a little late. Just because they were late getting back to the boat, they were spanked. Ping realized one day that he was going to be the last duck on the boat. Instead of taking the punishment he hides and waits for the boat to come back the next day. The problem is that the boat did not return the next day and Ping was left out by himself. This book can help children realize the importance of admitting their down faults and receiving due punishment. I think that it may be hard to realize the point of the story at their young age. It is important that parents point out that Ping was left alone because he did not take the punishment for something that he did wrong. This may be their way of teaching their child to be honest.
